The National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2022
Section 6102 of the 2022 NDAA amended the FCRA by inserting a new section 605C, based on an earlier bill known as the Debt Bondage Repair Act.15 Section 605C(b) provides that a consumer reporting agency may not furnish a consumer report containing any adverse item of information concerning a consumer that resulted from a severe form of trafficking in persons or sex trafficking if the consumer has provided trafficking documentation to the consumer reporting agency. As described in more detail in the section-by-section analysis below, section 605C(a) provides statutory definitions for a number of the terms, including from the TVPA.
